Stratford Summer Music
From July 14th – July 24th, residents and visitors can enjoy Stratford Summer Music, a yearly music festival featuring 350+ artists at over 100 events. Located at indoor and outdoor venues throughout Stratford’s downtown core, this festival promises a diverse selection of musical performances and genres for everyone to enjoy. The festival runs with the purpose to make world-class music accessible to everyone and almost half of the festival concerts are free or by donation. Paid events usually range from $10 – $40. The Stratford Summer Music Calendar is a great resource for those looking to plan out which shows they’re interested in attending. The Avon Place Apartments are a five-minute drive and 25-minute walk from Downtown Stratford.
Stratford Lions Pool’s Free Swims
Cool off after a long hot day with a swim at the Stratford Lions Pool. On Canada Day, Civic Day and every Friday evening, the pool hosts free swimming. Make sure to get to the pool early so you can avoid long line ups. The first Friday night free swim begins on June 28th. For more information on the free swim schedule, visit the City of Stratford website. Located at 15 William Street, the pool is a five-minute drive and 28-minute walk from the Avon Place Apartments.
Get a healthy dose of arts and entertainment with the help of the Stratford Festival. With performances taking place at four different venues, you’re bound to find a performance and a location conveniently situated near the Stratford Apartments. See performances of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, King Lear and Mother Courage and check out the Performance Calendar to make sure you get the date and time that you want.
For those who want to watch world-class performances without spending a pretty penny, there are a variety of ways to save. Every Tuesday and Thursday evening, the theatre offers a 2-for-1 discount when you purchase two tickets in the same seating zone you only pay for one. Look for the 2-for-1 icon on the calendar to see which performances this promotion applies to. With the Lucky $29 lottery there are you pay for a ticket and are randomly assigned a seat in the A, B or C balcony section of the theatre. This will save you up to $79 on an A seat. If you’re between the ages of 16-29 you can get amazing tickets starting at $25 for B and C seats and $35 for A seats with Play On! If you’re thinking about bringing the kids along, take advantage of the theatre’s Family Deals. With each regularly priced adult ticket for any performance, you can purchase up to four youth tickets for $36 each. For over 50% savings on your performance tickets you can either try Rush Seats, which involves purchasing two hours before the performance or ordering your tickets online.
