Things to do in Winter

If you’re looking to get back on the ice, head out to Allman Memorial Arena for an afternoon of skating. Stratford’s Skating Club operates out of the Allman Arena and is currently accepting 2015 Fall/Winter Registration. The Avon Place Apartments are a six-minute drive and 33-minute walk from the arena located at 15 Morenz Drive.

 

Skiing & Snowboarding

For over 79 years Chicopee Ski & Summer Resort has been offering residents of Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph, Cambridge and surrounding areas with a great place to ski and snowboard. Take advantage of Chicopee’s ski and snowboard family centres, programs, lessons and racing teams that are sure to appeal to all ages. If you don’t have your own equipment, you can rent it from the resort’s on-site Rental and Tech Shop. Visit Chicopee’s Winter Membership page for information on rates and memberships. Located in Kitchener at 396 Morrison Road, Chicopee is a 43-minute drive from the Stratford Apartments.

 

Curling

Improve your curling skills or pick up new ones at the Stratford Country Club located at 53 Romeo Street North, which is a seven-minute drive and 58-minute walk from the Avon Place Apartments. Snowshoeing & Ice Fishing

During the winter months, Pinehurst Lake is a prime location for ice fishing and snowshoeing. Located in North Dumfries at 468 Pinehurst Road, the lake and conservation area is a 53-minute drive from the Pinegrove Apartments.
