T.J. Dolan Natural Area is part of the larger park system located at the west end of the Stratford Side Trail along the Avon River, which is near the Stratford Festival Theatre. The north and south riverside trail loop features trails that range from 0.3 kilometres to 4.4 kilometres long. With all the other trails and park areas taken into consideration, T.J. Dolan Natural Area is approximately 8.5 kilometres in length. This natural area is a seven-minute drive and 32-minute walk from the Avon Place Apartments. For those who are driving, parking is available on John Street North or Lorne Avenue West. Enjoy a relaxing day walking around the city or pack up a picnic and enjoy a delicious meal by the picturesque waterfront.

 

Every April, residents and visitors can enjoy the Annual Swan Parade, which involves ferrying the swans from their winter habitat down to the river. From July 14th – July 24th, residents and visitors can enjoy Stratford Summer Music, a yearly music festival featuring 350+ artists at over 100 events. Located at indoor and outdoor venues throughout Stratford’s downtown core, this festival promises a diverse selection of musical performances and genres for everyone to enjoy. The festival runs with the purpose to make world-class music accessible to everyone and almost half of the festival concerts are free or by donation. Paid events usually range from $10 – $40. The Stratford Summer Music Calendar is a great resource for those looking to plan out which shows they’re interested in attending. The Avon Place Apartments are a five-minute drive and 25-minute walk from Downtown Stratford.

Stratford Lions Pool’s Free Swims
Cool off after a long hot day with a swim at the Stratford Lions Pool. On Canada Day, Civic Day and every Friday evening, the pool hosts free swimming. Make sure to get to the pool early so you can avoid long line ups. The first Friday night free swim begins on June 28th.
